Two invited talks on language change at the University of Manchester

On October 14 and 15, I gave two invited talks at the University of Manchester. The first was on the topic of my dissertation research into do-support, and the opportunities and challenges that a giga-word corpus brings to historical syntactic investigations. Here’s a link to the slides from that talk.

The second talk was a seminar on the application of the Constant Rate Hypothesis to historical language research. The slides from that talk are also available.
